It's one of the two best resources you can learn JavaFX 8 from. The other one is "Mastering JavaFX 8 Controls" by H.

This book helped cement understanding of certain features for me, like the functional interface and lambdas and how they relate to Java FX.I haven't gotten through this book, yet, however I am about 1/2 of the way and it's easy to read, code is well explained, and if you are interested in a primer then this is the book for you.
